No weapon or virus on earth can blast this most relevant verse out of the Bible – Romans 13:11

Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone, the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarrelling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. (ESV)

How then shall we live proactively, up-beat, laser focused, loving and sharing Jesus more than ever before?

Tim McGraw sang it this way;

He said “I was in my early forties, With a lot of life before me, And a moment came that stopped me on a dime, I spent most of the next days. Looking at the x-rays, Talkin’ ’bout the options, And talkin’ ’bout sweet time”, I asked him “When it sank in. That this might really be the real end. How’s it hit you. When you get that kind of news? Man, what’d you do?”

He said, “I went skydiving, I went Rocky Mountain climbing, I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fumanchu, And I loved deeper, And I spoke sweeter, And I gave forgiveness I’d been denying” And he said, “Someday I hope you get the chance, To live like you were dying”

He said, “I was finally the husband, That most of the time I wasn’t, And I became a friend a friend would like to have, And all of a sudden going fishin’, Wasn’t such an imposition, And I went three times that year I lost my dad, I finally read the Good Book, and I, Took a good, long, hard look, At what I’d do if I could do it all again

He said, “Like tomorrow was a gift, And you’ve got eternity, To think about, What you’d do with it, What could you do with it, What did I do with it? What would I do with it? And he said
“Someday I hope you get the chance, To live like you were dying, To live like you were dying.”

Randy Pausch said it this way in his dying, “Last Lectures,” quoting;

-Never underestimate the importance of having fun. I’m dying and I’m having fun. And I’m going to keep having fun every day because there’s no other way to play it.
-Experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted.
-No one is pure evil. Find the best in everybody. Wait long enough and people will surprise and impress you.
-Brick walls are there for a reason. They are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. The brick walls are there to stop people who don’t want it badly enough.
-It is not about achieving your dreams but living your life. If you lead your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you.
-We can’t change the cards we’re dealt, just how we play the hand. If I’m not as depressed as you think I should be, I’m sorry to disappoint you.

Jesus Christ instructed his disciples this way in Mark 13:32

“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come. It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake. Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning— lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.”

We do not have forever to live on this earth to get it right, to be authentic.

These ARE urgent and fragile days.

Tomorrow, FOUR simple truths to help resist the seductiveness of our generation that cause us to just float along and ignore the imminent coming of Christ from Romans 13:11
