AWAKE?
Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone, the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarrelling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. Romans 13:11-14 (ESV)
There are four ETERNAL living simple truths to help you resist the seductiveness of your generation that causes you to just float along and ignore the imminent coming of Jesus Christ. Romans 13:11
#1 THE SEASON OF THE LORD’S RETURN HAS ARRIVED! Watch vigilantly, it is the season to awake out of sleep, know the times and the seasons. We are so hypnotized by the rhythms of life we cannot see the workings of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
#2 THE LIGHT THAT CASTS OFF THE DARKNESS IS YOUR FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD! Darkness is the absence of light. Where God is not honored there is no light. Not even a flicker of light. On the other hand, you got the SOLAR beam from heaven working in and through you!
#3 THE STRIDE BY WHICH YOU MOVE FORWARD DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO GET MORPHED INTO YOUR CULTURE. For those who do get morphed into their godless, post Christian culture, they are asking questions about the wrong life because there is an ignorance of the right things. Seek Jesus and nothing less. He is the Rock which is higher than you and you will find shelter and comfort under his shadow. He is the Light which is brighter than the affairs of this world and you will live under his nurturing power and hope. He is the Embrace which provides comfort and salvation when inevitable losses begin to mount in your world because of sin.

#4 THE PRESENCE OF GOD PUTS YOU IN THE BEST SITUATION POSSIBLE TO KEEP YOU FROM FAILURE. The idea of putting on Jesus Christ like you do clothes is beautifully understood! Look in the mirror right now. When you got up this morning you put on your clothes and they become part of you, part of what you are doing all day long. In the same manner you take the presence of God with you wherever you go, and your clothes. Go through each day dressed in Jesus Christ and put yourself in the best situations whenever possible. Whenever you are on a diet you avoid the snack food and candy isle and you drive past Dairy Queen. I have nothing against Dairy Queen. “I love that place.” Gift cards accepted.
There is a strategy to living the Christian life. A Christian without a strategy is just floating along and ignoring the imminent return of Jesus Christ. Christ lives in you through the power of his resurrection after the cross. Let the cross change you from inside out. Then to follow up, to love and share Jesus so much that nothing can compete with it.

Brien and Terry’s niece, her preemie, Gideon, is now weighing over 2.5 lbs. “Their prayer is that he will become God’s mighty warrior. God saw the original Gideon as mighty long before Gideon understood himself that way.”
